Together for Clean Water: Wasser 3.0 and Regis24 Join Forces for the Danube
On this year's World Water Day, Regis24 announces its commitment to the scientific project DANUBE 2850 — a milestone demonstrating how corporate integrity and data expertise can protect Europe's water quality.
The 22nd of March is more than a date on the calendar. It is a reminder, a commitment, and this year — a departure. On the occasion of World Water Day 2026, Wasser 3.0 gGmbH announces that Regis24, one of Germany's leading data and compliance companies, is coming on board as official Kilometre Partner of the DANUBE 2850 project.
This partnership is not sponsorship in the conventional sense. It is the result of a shared conviction: that data gives rise to responsibility — and that responsibility is only credible when you are willing to truly act.
The Mission: 2,850 Kilometres for Europe's Water
In the summer of 2026, Dr. Joseph Heß will swim the entire length of the Danube — 2,850 kilometres through 10 countries in 60 days. What sounds like a sporting adventure is in reality a scientific expedition: over 250 water samples will be collected, analysed and published on the Global Map of Microplastics — a globally recognised tool for visualising microplastic pollution in our waterways.
The results will feed directly into EU parliamentary briefings. Wasser 3.0, recognised by the World Economic Forum as a Top Innovator, is thereby closing a scientific gap that has existed for years: the Danube — a drinking water source for 83 million people — has never been fully mapped for microplastics.
Regis24: When Conviction Becomes Action
For Regis24 CEO Gaby Kappert, the decision to enter the partnership was not a question of marketing, but of consistency. The Berlin-based company lives sustainability as a genuine value: employees build toad fences in Kienbergpark, an additional day of annual leave is granted for voluntary work, and partnerships with the Environmental Education Centre and Grün Berlin are a permanent part of the company culture.
From data that secures business to data that protects water — this is not a change of direction, it is the logical extension of our responsibility.
But DANUBE 2850 goes further — and that is at the heart of this partnership: the mission of Regis24 and that of Wasser 3.0 are fundamentally the same. Regis24 turns data into trust for better business decisions. Wasser 3.0 turns data into the foundation for better environmental policy. Transparency as a principle. Validity as a standard.
"This partnership shows what is possible when companies don't wait for regulation but actively take the lead," says Dr. Katrin Schuhen, Managing Director of Wasser 3.0. "Regis24 is making a statement — not just for the Danube, but for what corporate responsibility in Europe can look like."
What the Mileage Partnership Means
As a Mileage Partner, Regis24 takes on a clearly defined section of the Danube route. Every kilometre is scientifically evaluated and permanently linked to the name Regis24 on the Global Map of Microplastics.
A Signal That Should Set a Precedent
On World Water Day 2026, this partnership sends a clear message to the German and European business community: water protection is not a niche task for NGOs and research institutions. It is a corporate obligation — and an opportunity.
Wasser 3.0 invites further companies to become Mileage Partners of the Danube expedition and together make possible the first complete scientific mapping of the Danube. Because: every kilometre counts. For science. For policy. For water.
