Brief description of the OPEN HOUSE 2025 stations: Be right in the middle of it and experience it live!

Station 1: Sampling for microplastic analysis
We have developed a special sampling unit (Particle Sample Unit, PSU) for location-independent and flexible sampling of (waste) water.
This allows large and representative sample volumes to be taken within a very short time.
Further information on sampling using the PSU and the microplastis analysis based on them can be found in the links.

Station 2: Microplastic detection
We have developed an efficient analysis method that enables standardized and continuous monitoring of microplastic pollution for the first time. Detection is carried out using special fluorescent markers, which were developed in collaboration with our partner abcr.
In the EU project REMEDIES, we are supporting long-term monitoring at the wastewater treatment plant in Mykonos. In the UPSTREAM project, we are investigating the wastewater treatment plant effluent in comparison to the microplastic load in the Queich river.

Station 3: Microplastics mapping and Global Map of Microplastics
The Global Map of Microplastics is an interactive map that shows microplastic pollution in water bodies in a harmonized way for the first time - visible and comparable at a glance.
Thanks to the standardized procedure, the data collection can be carried out by all interested parties - in the spirit of citizen science.
At this station, you can find out more about data collection using the analytics kit and the Wasser 3.0 app.

Station 4: Fourth treatment stage plus / Focus on micropollutants, microplastics, PFAS, PVA
In the EU project UPSTREAM, we are investigating the simultaneous removal of PVA, PFAS and microplastics. We are using a combination of AOP technology from our cooperation partner Van Remmen UV Technology and our microplastic removal technology Wasser 3.0 PE-X®.
We obtain our hybrid silica gels from abcr. Application-specific, from wastewater to seawater.

Station 5: Industrial wastewater treatment with Wasser 3.0 PE-X®
With our Wasser 3.0 PE-X® clump & skim technology, we offer modular and adaptable solutions for the removal of microplastics in industrial applications.
Ecotoxicologically safe hybrid silica gel mixtures are used, which were developed with our partner abcr and can be purchased via their online shop.
We design the chemicals specifically for the industrial requirements profile.

Station 6 : OLOID Engineering GmbH
OLOID Engineering GmbH offers advanced technology for water purification and treatment of liquid media.
The machines are used as agitators, mixers and surface aerators. This stirring and aeration technology is based on a three-dimensional and impulse-like movement and on a special design of the stirring body, the Oloid.
The result: the most economical use of energy and the best possible solutions in process and environmental technology. Like a fish in water.

Station 7: abcr GmbH
Together with abcr, we have been jointly developing and scaling solutions for the detection and removal of microplastics and other pollutants for years. The focus of current projects - industrial wastewater treatment.
abcr is our cross-value chain supplier and logistics provider - worldwide.

Station 8: Carl Roth GmbH + Co. KG
Carl Roth GmbH + Co KG is a wholesaler of laboratory chemicals based in Karlsruhe. Carl Roth provides expert advice and high-quality products for laboratory supplies, life science and chemistry.

Station 9: Book presentation - Rebellin des Wassers
Take a look at the book and be inspired to buy it.
“Rebellin des Wassers” is the first non-fiction book by Katrin Schuhen, Managing Director of Wasser 3.0 gGmbH.
Including a foreword by Boris Herrmann and numerous solutions for more water without microplastics.
