To draw society's attention to the great importance of water and water availability and draw attention to the ongoing water and sanitation crisis, the UN decided in 1993 to declare March 22 as World Water Day. . The motto of this year's World Water Day is "Accelerating Change Together."
This is well aligned with our mission for water without microplastics and micropollutants. Because also for us, research, education, innovation, and communication are about national and international cooperation in line with the UN Sustainable Development goals, particularly Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6). SDG 6 aims to ensure clean water and sanitation for all people by 2030 and emphasizes that access to water should not be a privilege.
Water concerns all of us – the focus of Wasser 3.0: water without microplastics
Microplastics have become a global environmental problem and health risk, and are, among other ways, distributed through the water cycle. In the face of such a global environmental problem with a high-risk potential and an enormously high level of complexity, we continue to ask ourselves the question: How can we remove microplastics from water as quickly and effectively as possible and also recycle them in circular material cycles?
We are looking for answers to this question against the backdrop of our identity as a non-profit GreenTech company. Clean and safe water is a human right and a top priority for us. Our answers are therefore subject to the following requirements: Solutions to remove microplastics (and micropollutants) from water must be efficient, easy to use, cost-effective, and sustainable.
We provide scalable, affordable solutions.
Wasser 3.0 doesn’t follow established models and existing approaches in research and development or in organizational form and business model. We work beyond silos and individual interests with an absolute focus on impact and the common good. This is a logical consequence for us, which results from our attitude and our value commitment for water without microplastics and micropollutants. We see our corporate added value in relation to the overall social context of clean water and from a primarily ecological and social point of view. We consider purely commercial, profit-oriented action to be neither appropriate nor effective for securing the most important resource on this planet.
We need functioning, available solutions that are embedded in systemic socio-ecological transformations of general production and consumption dynamics and make measurable contributions to achieving the UN sustainability goals.
Water and plastics are fundamental components of all production processes worldwide. The change from a linear to a circular economy and socio-ecological transformation therefore depends to a large extent on which solutions we implement for clean water and the sustainable use of plastics. The contribution of Wasser 3.0 is to find economically and ecologically well thought out solutions for the detection and removal of microplastics in water, and their reuse, and to transfer these into real applications and standards.
By following the motto, “A path is someting, you create when you walk it,” we move forward in the sense of socio-ecological transformation. We do this out of conviction and with a high degree of self-motivation and identification with our environment. This attitude together with our commitment to values are always present in our communication work. With this approach, we not only want to enlighten, stimulate thinking and critically examine topics, but also gain as many supporters as possible who help to address and promote water without microplastics and micropollutants.
Competition is started – more visibility for water without microplastics
This World Water Day, we are trying something new. There is a competition. Anyone can participate. Check out our Instagram page to find out how it works. All further information can be found in our post.
The data protection regulations of Wasser 3.0 gGmbH apply. The competition begins on March 1st, 2023 and ends on March 22nd, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. The winners will be contacted via a private Instagram message. Good luck!
