The Planet Hero Award is the flagship of Zurich Germany. Wasser 3.0 was among the award winners in 2021 and since then, they have been making a measurable impact for more water without microplastics. We look back at what we have achieved in recent years and look to the future.

With the help of start-up funding from the E.ON Climate Fund of the E.ON Foundation, we are getting started with our educational project WASoMI Lab. We are creating an indoor and outdoor learning space for water without microplastics. That's what it's all about.

On June 26 and 27, 2025, the second Open House of Wasser 3.0 gGmbH will take place at the EW Landau wastewater treatment plant. Registration is now open. There are only a limited number of places. It pays to be quick.

With the revised EU Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive, many wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) will finally be required to monitor microplastic levels – but only twice per year for those serving > 150,000 population equivalents (p.e.) and only once per year for smaller WWTPs. The question remains – is this sufficient? The answer: NO! How do we know this?

But in between there is a glimmer of hope – an encouragement. A new non-fiction book ‘Rebellin des Wassers’ will be published in October and is the first book by Dr Katrin Schuhen. More in our blog.

Under the auspices of the EU Green Week, the Water Innovation Europe Awards 2024 were presented on the first day of Water Innovation Europe 2024. At the ceremony with more than 260 participants, five innovators and their groundbreaking solutions in the water sector were the center of attention. And we were right in the middle of it all!

Get up in the morning, drink a glass of tap water, make coffee or tea, take a quick shower, brush your teeth, do your laundry, cook and so on. We need water - for everything. Water is a fundamental and natural part of our lives. Without clean water, we cannot live, we cannot survive. But the image of crystal clear water is becoming clouded. More and more pollutants, more bad news. How should we deal with water as the basis of life in the future?
